Fibre optic broadband is the newer, more advanced broadband delivery system. Think of DSL broadband as a road and fibre optic broadband as a motorway; one can carry much more than the other and at faster speeds, whilst the other has more issues to deal with to overcome the increased traffic.

Our fiber optic network is powered by flexible strands of transparent glass no thicker than a human hair. These fibre optic strands transmit information as pulses of light, and carry huge amounts of information in the space of seconds. Lightning fast upload and download speeds mean buffer-free streaming, crystal clear video calls, and the power to share photos and videos faster than you can take them.

No all customers, including those who had fibre previous to July 2021 must apply online for their upgrade online.
Plug in your handset to the phone jack on your modem.
A fibre mesh or router would be the best option. Depending on the layout of your home, thick walls and other electronic devices may be weakening your signal. A signal boasting device will help to rectify your signal strength and range.
Legitimate sites such as Netflix, Youtube etc will stream seamlessly with your fibre service. However pirated sites may experience quality and streaming issues due to the nature of these platforms.

Yes you can. However it is recommended that you have an IT professional check to ensure that your router is updated and configured for fibre.
To accurately conduct a speed test, plug a laptop or PC into the modem with an Ethernet cord. Disconnect all devices except the testing device. If you are unable to plug into the modem you may use a speed test app on your mobile device. Disconnect all devices except testing device before running speed test.
